Is there a way that when the reverser in in neutral, that you can get the 255 RPM idle with the reverser in neutral and the 318 RPM idle in a direction position?

RE: Lo Idle

Anybody experimented with the SoundTimer command? Maybe play high idle for a minute, then revert to low idle?Don't know if it would work but I might try it when I get some time.krswen

It can be done, but would likely require a lot of careful sms file scripting. If you look herehttp://www.railpage.org.au/steam4me/trainsim/tutorials/sms_doku.htmlyou will see at the bottom the trigger numbers for the reverser. Thus it is possible to have an idle sound playing as an initial trigger, that then shifts to a different idle when the reverser is moved to forward.I have tested this before (for starting fan sounds on an electric locomotive) and it works, but it may be very complicated getting it to work for your application in all situations. For example, if you set the idle to change when you move the reverser from neutral to reverse, I'm not sure what happens when you move it from forward to neutral. Also, what happens if you are in forward and you press the 'w' key again? It may be necessary to put in a few strategic DisableTrigger and EnableTrigger commands to make sure certain things only happen when you want them to.Should be a fascinating experiment. Please let us know your progress.Jeff

Jeff - I will try this. Thanks for the info. I'll update you on my progress. I am making a WC SD45 cab, and it has the lo idle.
