i am suddenly getting the following error mess when running conbuilder.ver 5.5. it is on all 5 of tkw ns sd40-2 engines..the sound def file../..sd402/sound/sd402eng.sms specified by the file tkw ns sd40-2 3372.eng is missing from the folder tkw ns sd40 3372\sound or from the main sound folder the error was found on this line: Sound("../../SD402/SOUND/sd402eng.sms") i cannot open msts without getting the dreaded send error report message now i have checked the global sound file and both the sd402 cab and eng .sms files are there. i am stumped . can anybody help this idiot get back to simming again.
I think the sd402eng.sms file should be in the "tkw ns sd40 3372\sound" folder, not the global sound folder.I believe that if an eng file refers to an sms file that is just "name.sms" the program will look in the engine's sound folder first, and if it doesn't find it there, will look in the global sound folder. However, if the sms file reference is aliased "../..foldername/name.sms" it will only look in the specified folder.Jeff
i created new "sound" folders in each of the 5 engines and put the sd402cab and the sd402eng files into them. that did not change anything. i finally gave up and alaised them to a cp rail sd40-2 that had no errors ..now i have to go to work ,so i do not know if i made any progress getting the sim to start, but the error messages are gone. thanks for your help..dh2
