Hi: ConBuilder shows the following error:- The sound file ..\\..\\..\\Dash9\\Sound\\x-d9_airb_auto2.wav specified by the file..\\..\\Common.Snd\\MP54\\MP54eng.sms does not exsist in the folder F:\Program\ .... \NALW_MP54\Sound The error was found in this line: DecreteTrigger (54 PlayOneShot ( 2 File ("..\\..\\HHP\\Sound\\x_hhp_ibrake1.wav"-1) File ("..\\..\\..\\Dash9\\Sound\\x_dp9_airb_auto2.wav"-1) SelectionMethod (RandomSelection)The Dash9\\Sound\\x_d9_airb_auto2 file is a Winamp Audio File. Changing the wording in the .sms file from .wav to .Winamp Media File does not correct the error.I've corrected many file errors, but this one eludes me.Any help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance; Chuck.

>Chuck. Your version of Conbuilder is Screwed!
There is no error....
If you look closely at the error report Conbuilder is looking for the sound file in the MP/Sound Folder (which does not exist) instead of the Common.Snd/MP54 Folder (which does exist and where the file really is)
The MP54 uses Aliased sounds and your version of Conbuilder hasn't a clue how to follow the links....
Get the current version from the file library and the error will disappear....The 1st indication you should have had that the error was bogus was the fact that the MP54 sounds (including the Air Brake Sounds) play on your model. The 2nd indication would have been for you to READ the error message and note that it says, basically, I can't find file named <foldera>/filename in location <folderb>/filename....
not logical at all!BTW, this is an old problem Carlos fixed sometime ago when he got tired of hearing me and other engine designers whine about the quantity of support requests we were getting over a bug in his program! Chuck Schneider

FYI, it's not a Winamp audio file, it is a .wav file that you've associated with Winamp. In other words, no matter what sort of .wav file you've got, if you double-click on it, Winamp will open and attempt to play the file. You could also play this .wav file "as is" in several other media players such as RealOne or Windows Media Player. It's similar to how you could open the .sms file in Wordpad, Word, Notepad, etc. . .

RE: NALW MP54 Sound

Hi Chuck; Thanks for the reply and the info. Yes, I did realize the sounds were aliased, but I thought the error might be in the way the code is actually written, ie too many spaces, wrong brackets, etc. It never occured to me that it might be that ConBuilber can't read the code the way it is written. Thanks again; Chuck F.

> file ..\\..\\..\\Dash9\\Sound\\x-d9_airb_auto2.wav Shouldn't there be only two {..\\}s, ie file ..\\..\\Dash9\\Sound\\x-d9_airb_auto2.wav RegardsYuri.

RE: NALW MP54 Sound

Yep you're right Yuri....
My master copy only has 2....
The only time it would have 3 would be if the sms files were underneath the sound folder like on our genesis and GeMegapak sounds....
Wonder what happened here to him??????Chuck Schneider
