I have a few engines that give a very long blast of the horn even though I just push and instantly release the spacebar. Is there a way to change the duration of the horn blast? On other engines, there seems to be a slight delay between pushing the space bar and when the horn sounds. Is there a way to change this? Thanks for your help!

RE: Duration of horn sound

the only way is to load the sound file in a sound's editor like Cool Edit pro and adding some cue points along the lenght of the horn's sound.

Why not try http://www.goldwave.com as the demo is free to use for 150 saves I think. To get an idea on how to edit horn sounds or make them longer see http://www.railpage.org.au/steam4me/trainsim/tutorials/makesound_01.htmlI would also suggest loading up one of the default engine horns (GP38 is a good example) and examining the cue points positions and the number of them. Have a play around with the wav files and see what effects you can get in order to become familiar with how your sound editing program works. Just remember to back up your original files somewhere safe so you don't accidently lose your originals.Cheers !
