Scenario:
i have placed many yard markers at various locales in all of my favorite routes, which enables full runbys in view(7) yard cam with full control.Question:
for instance: when viewing a 110 car train runby, the wagons will make sounds up until the 35th wagon, then the rest of the runby is silent. any help avail on this pls.would suggest if anyone else can simulate the same senario and comment if same results and /or any suggested fixes.

RE: Full Runby Sound help?

Happens to me too. I'm no sound technician, but I think it has to do with the sound deactivation distance in WAG. files. You can increase the deactivation distance, but IDK how high it will go. Hope this helps you out!

RE: Full Runby Sound help?

For some odd reason the key7 view does not have the same continuous updating ability with regards to new sounds starting up that the other key views have. ie you can only hear the sounds during a key7 session that were playing at the start of it. Any new sounds that are activated aren't audible. However you can 'refresh' by quickly exiting to another external view and returning to key7 view, althought your position does get reset as well. The solution. Not fully sorted this yet, but it is related to the activation distance in the sms files. By default the max activation distance is 1000m. So you can increase the activation distances in all the wagon sms's to 1000m and this will help. But the limit of 1000m is set by soundcfg.dat. The 1000's in there can be increased to 2000m, and then subsequently the activation distance in the sms files. But like I said, I've not done too much investigation here so not sure what the downside to such changes might be.
