Hi!I've been reading lots of good things about your GE sounds. Does the sound package approximate the newer GE's or older GE U-boats?I like the older stuff... so was just wondering. If it represents the newer GE's, has anyone produced a sound package that would sound like the older GE's?Andre "Coonskin" Ming

RE: Attn: KEN SWENSON

Since they are based somewhat on MSTS engine sounds, and I assume Kuju or MS got access to BNSF 4723, they are most like Dash 9 or AC4400.I don't have much experience with the older GE's. I know their compressor sound would be different since they were driven at engine speed by a shaft and clutch. The traction motors haven't fundamentally changed much over the years, so that sound should be reasonable. The newer locomotives have more motor-driven blowers and fans than the old units. The radiator fan was also engine-driven on the old units and the inlet air dirt separator was evacuated using eductor tubes in the muffler rather than a dedicated blower.Hidden deep in the NALW GE (GEmegaV2.zip) package are files for older GE units. Look in Common.snd/GE_FDL/Extras for UBoat_GEEng and Cab.sms files after you install it. Haven't tried them myself, but the NALW guys do nice work.
