Giday - after seeing some 81 class in action - i was woundering - the loco has its main horn (nathan P5 i think) and a shunting horn which is low pitch, quiet horn. for MSTS would it be possible to have 2 horns in the cab?? - in the SOUND file - name the main horn 81_horn1.wav and have the shunting horn 81_horn2.wav - and in the cab setup a second button which would be the secondry horn - and in the SMS file - setup a new stream??this would be AWESOME if it could workthanks in advance cheers mike
Guess what it is...go to the eng file, take off the does horn trigger bell and set it to 0. Now go to your SMS files and edit the bell to your horn's name. Now when you press B you will have your second bell.
See, the problem with "setting up a new stream" and adding a "second button" for the horn is the button has to activate a trigger which is recognized by the .sms system to trigger the sound specified in the .sms file. There is only one trigger for the horn, and you can't add any more (the triggers are hard-coded). All you can do is replace something you might not need (or might be able to do without) on this particular loco. . .the obvious solution would be to replace the bell sound with your horn sound (as described above).EDIT: It is important to set DoesHornTriggerBell to 0 as described above, because of course, otherwise your secondary horn will blow constantly every time you blow the main horn.
Actually, all that you have to do is rename the bell file or what ever one you choose and copy and paste into the sound folder for that loco. I did it to my NS SD40-2 and it works. Well, I'm off to replace the sand file with the bell.LaterNW 1218Long live the F40C!
