The Edouard team annonces you the availibility of the completly new Duplex trainset, a freeware realisation. The Duplex file is now available right here in the file library: duplex.zipIt is also available on the Edouard site: http://perso.club-internet.fr/staned/projetsesk/index.htmlThe Duplex is fully compatible on the LGV-Med route available on the Lucweb site: http://perso.wanadoo.fr/lucweb/lgvmed/fr/default.htmConcerning the sound, Belphegor and me have created a very realistic sound, particulary inside the cab, pushing hard the TS limits and using a completly new algoritm: the NBSM2.Before to drive the Duplex, read in detail the ReadMe file...Enjoy this beautiful Edouard Duplex trainset....Newalex

I noticed there is a specific Duplexbar.sms used as an specific external wagon sound for the 4th carriage (the bar), supposed to reflect the fridge/compressor sound. Great feature ! But unfortunately I can't hear it, even with max settings ? (neither from inside, understandably, nor from outside any place near that carriage)Love and Peace
It is quite possible that "soundcfg.dat" in your Global folder has reached the limit of the number of sounds it will play simultaneously, a problem generated by its default setting to a least-common denominator value, which is considerably below what today's machines and soundcards can handle.I invite you over to UK Train-Sim where Stuart gives a most excellent summary of correcting this, which I have done and I much enjoy the result. My hardware set-up is in my profile. Here is a link to the thread, and Stuart's observations are in the first post. His username is "scefhwil" and it he is a great resource for things.http://forums.atomic-systems.com/viewtopic.php?t=8717&highlight=Yes, the compressor sound for that car is a nice touch and you should hear it. Hope this helps. Kind regards, MikeBuilding your Railroad to Margaritaville http://home.tampabay.rr.com/musings/keys.htm
Thank you for posting good results. Amid other MSTS obsessions, I am working to unravel other .sms secrets but my background is sound not writing scripts and certainly not reverse-engineering them.MSTS makes it time-consuming and cumbersome to experiment in that area or more may have been already done by the script wizards.I suspect you will find other things in your MSTS sound experience have also improved. It's possible that now when you drive in the rain with a long consist, you will hear it falling--if you didn't before.Remember to tuck this little trick away somewhere so you can remember to repeat the exercise if ever you re-install MSTS.Kind regards, MikeBuilding your Railroad to Margaritaville http://home.tampabay.rr.com/musings/keys.htm
Nice work, gentlemen!!Only thing is...is the TGV Dupliex that loud inside the cab when accelerating? It sounds like.....believe it or not....I'm running an old Long Island Rail Road MP54 in the TGV Duplex cabview!!!All that humming when accelerating, then cut power to coast, and the sound cuts to coasting....just like MP54's...or New York City subway R-1 cars!
>Nice work, gentlemen!! > >Only thing is...is the TGV Duplex that loud inside the cab >when accelerating? In fact, we have "magnified the trace" a little bit, of course, in order to be more pleasant or more alive, an artistic touch for TS in a certain way... >All that humming when accelerating, then cut power to coast, >and the sound cuts to coasting....just like MP54's...or New >York City subway R-1 cars! Well!!! in the Duplex (and all the others tgv), 2 motors of 1100KW are fixed under the cab, directly on the structure of the motrice (and not inside the boggie) this detail explains a lot of resonances and gear noises in the cab (despite the soundproofed cab) but, at hight speed, motors are little bit more silencious....Newalex
