Well continuing on my trial-and -error exploration of .sms files I've been playing with radio chatter.. There was an old .wav of radio stuff that came with a geep from this site , I'd spotted it and was playing with the idea when along came cajon with it's hotbox detectors! Just what I needed, milepost 8 now gives me the radio chatter for about 2 miles either side!
I've been driving the TGV's and accumulating a lot of french railstock and came accross this site with excellent french radio chatter for all (well most of) the french stuff that runs on the lgv med route .... replaces the .eng and .sms files and aliases the radio chatter from the acela sound folder. The bell button can be used for oneshot plays, or the radio squawks randomly.http://membres.lycos.fr/voieferree/DownloadMTS.html I'm still trying to get the thing to work with clem tillier's tgv's but the overall effect is excellent .. It's like french cars, It really comes alive when the radio is on a french speaking station jv

RE: Radio chatter, I love it!

Try this. Better. I worked it into the GP38 default cab (and others) to get it working in ALL the engines using these cabs.

RE: Radio chatter, I love it!

I had the radio chatter on my engines but found that it somehow silenced the dynamic brake whine. Now though that I've got all my cabs aliased to the GP38V4 cab which is great will it mess the cab view up if it "the BNSF Radio Chatter" is installed

RE: Radio chatter, I love it!

I'll have a look at the bnsf audio pack .. as for it affecting the cabview, I think it's safe because it only affects the .sms file for the cab, not the .cvf or textures.
Mind you I still can't get the french chatter to work with the tgv's of clem tillier ... i've put the two radio streams in the first group of streams in the common .sms file , included a line in the engine file for the bell toggle, but maybe clem's are made without bells / However still some trial and error to go.

RE: Radio chatter, I love it!

Will it work with the new SD40-2?
