RE: EMD567

I am also getting nothing as well. Same for the AlcoTurbo.zip. Could someone provide a better installation procedure. I do not have the Conbuilder as mentioned in the readme. Bob S

RE: EMD567

Hi Guys.
I am going to risk a severe flaming. I have discovered two very serious problems with the forum. The first is that there seems to be no checking of grammar before posting a message. It is sometimes impossible to even figure out what the sentence says. The second problem seems to be that the author has never checked out his install instructions, in other words you can not get there from here. Believe me, the alcoturbosounds are priceless, but the author has never tried his own installation instructions or he would fall back and regroup. I spent a lot of time trying to install these and all I can say is, you can do it if you try. I'll bet the author would like you to tell him how to do it also.

RE: EMD567

Ditto.....same with Alco Pack......need installation instructions with greater clarity.....its a shame since people spend so much time preparing these great sound packs and then figure we all know how to proceed........it ain't intuitive with ME!

RE: EMD567

I have had luck. I installed it into the trainset directory under the folder "Alcoturbo". From there the wav files will be in that folder, with the sms files in the "Alias" directory". The only problem I had was the alias to the GP38 horns and air sounds and other crap which use the GP38 folder. The way my folder structure was set up, I had to elminate a "../" on each "../../../gp38/sound/filename.sms" to get the sounds to work with the alco sounds. The same with the 567 sounds if you have that one as well.Ken

RE: EMD567

Hi guys, Well this is old news now, but i have the 567 sounds. To me it was easy, as I am CONSTANTLY aliasing files. BUT I feel the sound is A: too loud and B: get rid of the main gen. whine at high speed. Also, as an experienced railroader, the engine RPM does NOT change from idle to run 1. this should be addressed.Other than that, it is a GREAT addition!!

Hey Kelley,You are the Chief Lighting Man, so help me with this:
How do you get the AI engines to light up.
I tried one way with the # but now there are no more AI trains coming down the tracks.
What is the proper way, please.
Thanks, Ted

RE: EMD567

Thanks,
I worked it out some other way;
changed headlight and service to 0,
now the Geep has lights on all the time.
It works too, unless you have a string of them, then they look silly.

Kelley,>Also, as an experienced railroader, the engine RPM does NOT change
>from idle to run 1.The 8-567c that I drive is like this, but the 6-567c I drive is not.
Our 8-567c was built for passenger work, and the 6-567c was built for switching.Derek
