I'm kitbashing an 0-8-0 together, hacking a cabview from the scot, but using the Goldsdorf 380 sounds, since the whistle sounds closer to a small American steamer than the scot, plus I like the deep-bellied boiler sound from the 380. Got everything hacked (now all I gotta do is figure out the alias ), and thought all was hunky-dory until I went to go ding-a-ling, and there ain't any bell! Thinking I musta screwed the pooch somewhere in the .eng file, I restarted with the actual Goldsdorf, no bell there either. Don't tell me the Orient Express drivers didn't have a ding-a-ling to play with?!
Nope, I don't think the golsdorf or scotsman have bells, Because from what I understand, The bells are a american thing, and neither locomotives are american

Son of a gun, you're right! I just checked the Flying Scotsman, hit the B key and it's the same as the Goldsdorf, nicht dingenzee-dongen. Wonder why I never noticed that before. Well, I guess it must be an American thing, no wonder all them Europeans think we're a buncha ding-a-lings. Guess I gotta steal a bell sound from someplace else.
Why a bell when you have 100 tons of steel with steam and smoke hissing out, the beat of the exhaust, the noise of the wheels on the rails, the clickety clack, the flange squeals, a working whistle...and many more I'm sure...??? If you can't hear that how can you hear a little ding a ling??? Georges from London.
