Re: downloading a new sd40: After downloading the customized sd40 sound file, is it possible to use this instead of copying the sound file from the gp38, as is typically requested when downloading the engine? Thanks in advance.

yes, Edit the sms line in wordpad to look like this:..\\..\\Common.snd\\EMD_SD40\\sd40eng.sms
and
..\\..\\Common.snd\\EMD_SD40\\sd40cab.sms

Open the *.eng file in wordpad, view it as a unicode document, do a search for gp38eng.sms and gp38cab.sms and replace them with Kevin's instructions above.Clayton
