I have a copy of Burt Lancaster's "The Train" on DVD and wondered if I can record the engine sounds to hdd. My problem is that the DVD drive is internal and I do not have any software to record the soundtrack in windows. If I take the sound out from the front and loop it into the line in on the sound card the feedback destroys the quality.
If anyone knows of some sound software to help I would be grateful.
Thanks,
Francis

RE: DVD sound gathering

LAST EDITED ON May-12-02 AT 06:39 PM (EDT)Thanks, that was a good idea so I have tried your sugestion and carried on to all the other inputs as well. No joy yet unfortunatly.
If I use very short bites it seems to not get any distortion so I recorded onto video tape ( next best thing to dat ) and am slowly putting it back onto hard disk.
