I made a turbo-generator .wav loop, and I would like to add it as a continuous loop to my .sms file. I'm using the 380eng.sms file (modified) as the sound file for the NP 2-6-6-2 steam locomotive. Can someone tell me the exact line or lines I need to add to the 380eng.sms file to accomplish this? Thanks.

RE: Add sound to engine.sms

Add the following line:Stream (
Priority ( 6 )
Volume ( 1.0 )
Triggers ( 1
Initial_Trigger(
StartLoop ( 1 File ( "turbogen.wav" -1 ) SelectionMethod ( SequentialSelection ) ) )
)
)
You need to add this to the three sections of the .sms file(SL-1, SL-3, SL-5) representing the sounds for the low, medium and high sound settings. You also need to add 1 to the number of streams at the beginning of each of the sections that you add the stream to. The beginning of each section starts with something similar to the lines below:
ScalabiltyGroup( 3
Activation ( ExternalCam () Distance (1000) )
Deactivation ( CabCam () PassengerCam () Distance (1000) )
Streams ( 12You would change the twelve(in bold) to 13 if you added a stream to this section.

RE: Add sound to engine.sms

LAST EDITED ON Apr-09-02 AT 08:22 PM (EST)Muchas gratias, that worked like a charm. I screwed it up the first time by not putting in all those close parentheses, but finally got it straightened out. Sounds great, except for the frequency response, which I attribute to the sample rate (11025hz). Original 1/4" tape sounded much better.
