Mar-08-02, 05:13 PM (EST) "Problems with MakeAce" I am making a cab and when i try to use makeace, it doesn't
work at all. I just get the following message:
"Makeace has caused an error in makeace.exe.
Makeace will now close."I have been trying to convert a 256*256 24 bit tga file
just as test.I have tested the original version, updated version and
the MSTS patch. When i used the patch, the WinMakeace
utility didn't even start but just gave the same error message.Could somebody help me? Has somebody else had this kind of
problems? br

The requirement is for 32-bit tga, specifying the transparency mask option. If you use Paint Shop Pro you need a minimum of version 7 to create the correct tga file. Also, the test image you are using is wrong. Cab files should be created on a canvas of 1024x1024, then constrained to 640x480 or 1024x768 when making the ace file. The DOS call to the Makeace utility looks something like this:makeace Rusty-crp.tga RC-Front.ace -bmp -width:1024 -height68 -------SamSpade--------
