I want to add a cab signal display to the default GP38 cab. I run Cab Editor and add my display. When I run an activity that uses that cab, MSTS crashes and displays the "Send / Don't Send" dialog box.The lines that the Cab Editor adds are below. CabSignalDisplay ( Type ( ASPECT_DISPLAY CAB_SIGNAL_DISPLAY ) Position ( 488 182 45 70 ) Graphic ( AcelaSignalGC.ace ) )I have done this many times before. Anyone know what is wrong here?Cheers, Gary Cameron Grande Prairie "The last civilized stop before Alaska," AB Canada
I have done several myself, but I NEVER use the cab editor..it has too many bugs. I manually edit my cvf files. The four numbers in position line are: the first two, 488 and 182 are the exact position (pixel location) of the cab signal display horizontal and vertical. The last two 45 and 70 defines the portion of the cab signal ace that is shown. A cab signal ACE file has 8 panes within it, 4 across the top row and 4 more on the bottom row, within the one ace file. So for this example check and make sure that your cab signal ACE file is exactly 180 by 140. Search for my name in the downloads area and you will see where I added cab signals to the default GP38 cab a long time ago. Cabsignal files are different from some Ace files, in that it only shows a portion of the whole file at a time, just like a throttle control for example. Check out my download and compare the cvf file and the size of the cab signal ace file and it should make more sense to you. Also when you manually add a control, you must add 1 to the total number of controls listed at the top of the beginning of the control definitions, and you must also make sure that cab signal ace file is named correctly and is in the cabview folder for that engine.
