Hi CAB designers! For my model of the old Parisian Tube EMU, I needed a "direction+throttle" combined control. First I thought it was impossible in MSTS but after several tests and problems I found this solution.
Direction+Throttle combined Control – image 1Here it is:
Each frame of the THROTTLE LEVER animation is build with the two positions of the lever (forward position AND reverse position) and in the CVF file, the DIRECTION LEVER is used as a mask for the THROTTLE LEVER. The picture below explains the process.
Direction+Throttle combined Control – image 2The solution is not perfect because the THROTTLE LEVER which layed under the DIRECTION LEVER is thus unreachable with the mouse. The visual result depends of the position of the actual combined control: a frontal position will be more usable than a lateral position.
Comments welcome! Soon available on my website.PierreG
