Hi,Why does Cabview/common.cab/funitcab have an out the window view in one loco, but not another? For example, file Gn450a has this view, but when I copy the cab files to Sal3006, even though everything appears to be identical, I do not have this view. I enjoy this view, and would like it in all my locos. Am I missing something that is not in the cab files? Thanks for your help, Peter
Hi Peter: The HeadOut view is determined by the .eng file not the cvf. file. Open The .eng file of your locomotive. Below the CabView line should be HeadOut ( ##.# ##.# ##.# ). If the line is not there, just type it in using WordPad ( NotePad for XP ). If you type it in start with the numbers ( 1.8 3.7 5.1 ). Start the sim and check your view. If it is not to your satisfaction go back to the line. The first number <1.8> will move the view left or right. A lower number will move it to the left, higher to the right. The second number 3.7 will move the view up or down. A lower number will move it up and a higher will move it down. The third number <5.1> will move the view forward or backward. Lower numbers will move it back and hogher forward.Hope this helps you out.Cyndi
Hi Cyndi,Thanks so much! Your info and numbers was exactly what I needed. On the E6, I finally decided on 6.5 for the third number, and it's perfect, right outside the cab window.I've been into TS for about eighteen months, and it amazes me at what I don't know. I've managed to build a route, the combined ACL/SAL, for Richmond VA south. It's actually two routes in one. The ACL is a fast double track sea-level route, while the SAL is a fast single track route through the foothills, a little farther west. It's been great fun, a little frustrating at times, and a continuing learning experience. Thanks again for your help, Peter P.S. I attached a photo of the Champion at Weldon NC.
