Hi Folks: Where can I find information on how to change the colors of existing cabs? They seem to be too bright in the day light versons. I find that distracting from the exterior view so I'd like to experiment a bit. I'd also like to add some light shading to give more depth to the interior. I haven't done much with this aspect of MSTS and could use some advise. Thanks in advance, Karl

This is because many of the cab interiors have a material property setting of halfbright, which allows them to glow slighty at night giving the illusion of a lit cab. This setting is done be the model's creator but you can change it with shape file manager http://www.railpage.org.au/steam4me/trainsim/tutorials/sfm_faq.html provided the cab interior is in a material group of its own, which it should be. Change it to darkshield to give a darkened cab interior, bearing in mind that this will loose the lit cab effect at night.>I'd like to experiment a bit. This utility is available from http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/index.htm I don't know what graphic programme you may have but the default one everybody has is MS Paint. PSP7 through to PSP8 and Adobe Photoshop are the two main graphics programmes the majority use to change colours.Hope this helps.edited for spelling...DOH!
