RE: Alco RS-1,2,3 Cabviews

Hi KRO52:I am searching for actual photographs. Aside from 1 diagram in a manual, and the images you found from MSTS RS models, I am at a loss.Would not think it so hard to find.Craig

RE: Alco RS-1,2,3 Cabviews

Craig,
Full cab shots are hard to come by. When I did these cabviews, I found numerous ALCO websites, unfortunatly I didn't keep any address's. I was fortunate to have a RS1 manual, which basically shows the control stand, the rest I took from memory as I had worked on RS1's and RS3's during my time with the LIRR (32 years)as a loco shop foreman. Keep hunting through the web. KRO52

RE: Alco RS-1,2,3 Cabviews

It is a pleasure to meet you. You are not kidding about cab views...I have been in touch with an Alco specific forum, several libraries, and probably every web site your have already been to. I did find a diagram from a manual for an RS-1, a photo of the control stand for an RS-11.This started out as a research item, which has now grown into a two part project (now trying to find out what the obvious visual differences are between an RS 2 and an RS 3). Everyone shot the engine itself, you would think a a few snuck aboard and photographed the cab.Thank you for the help.Craig

Don't bother reading it!Hey! On the MSTS box, it says "For entertainment purposes only." No wonder that it was som much harder to control than WC's SD45 sim!Alco RS-1,2,3 Cabviews – image 7
