I could use a little input on how ya'll incorporate a clock into the cab view, especially coordinating it with the sim time.
I had a thought of making a clock tower, something like this (a rough draft);
I hope I'm in the right forum for this – image 1I'd like to set this clock up to the sim time.
I'm familiar with TSM animation, but I don't think that's where I need to be working.
Is it possible to set this clock to recognize sim time?Any guidance would be appreciated.Hawk

Right forum. If you can use a digital clock, and know how to edit a cvf file without ruining it, I can help. Depending on the locomotive, you may have to do some trial and error to position it where you want it in the cab. It shows sim time.fwbryan

Thanks for the reply, but I believe you mis-understood my plans. I want to incorporate the clock tower (the one in the shot above) to sim time, which-I'm thinking isn't possible, due to the fact it's an analog clock and not digital, plus it's not a train-so no cab and no .cvf file.
I think I'll just have to animate it and not concern myself with the sim time.
Again, thanks for your reply.HawkEdit 1: I just thought of something. When creating a sim object in TSM, there is an option for sound and cab files. Could I create a dummy cab for this clock, or does it have to be digital?"First thing I remember knowin', was that lonesome whistle blowin'-And a yungun's dream of growing up to ride-

The cab editor only has a digital clock option.I also wonder if the clock would work with the cab being a scenery object. I would think that the only clocks updated to sim time would be the active cab clock. (but with KUJU, you never know) I guess the only way to find out would be to try it.-Jeff

RE: I hope I'm in the right forum for this.

I have given thought to making a cab, and maybe with the help of "Invisocar" from Sniper, somehow-make it look like a clock.
Only problem is, I wanted to make it a four-sided tower-with a clock on all sides.
I wonder what the cab-view would look like? Something I think Quasimodo would be familiar with.
And then there's that digital thing. I guess I could make the hands look like numbers, and rotate them around the face.
I dunno'. Looks like some simple animation might be the best way for me to go-due to my lack of knowledge of cab building, and the limitations of the sim.
Back to the drawing board.
Thanks for the input!Hawk "First thing I remember knowin', was that lonesome whistle blowin'-And a yungun's dream of growing up to ride-
