I have the GTW GP9 #4434 from the file library,
It has longhood forward, correct for GTW,CN,CV units.
I'am using cabview (GP7-ndb.cvf)& headout( 1.8 3.3 3.47 ).
When using the head out you are looking out of the longhood,
If you look back you can see the cab where you should be looking
out from. I'am guessing the headout numbers need to be changed.
Anyone know how to correct this? Is there anyway to make the CN
& CV units longhood forward?
We used to call them blind on one side units at work.
I guess the hoghead wanted to keep the brakeman awake,
he had to watch the left side.
When CN started purchasing first generation diesel locomotives
they asked all the hogheads what they wanted leading long or short.
All the hogheads were so used to looking down the side of a long
boiler on the steam enignes, so CN ordered all the GP9's,GMD1's &
RS-18's longhood leading.Thanks
Gord

Jon, That's what I meant, you took the words right out of my mouth.
Nice cab, some GP9's got new control stands when they changed out
those crappy 6SL brake valves, I used to hate them.
Where does one find a cab like that with the longhood forward view?

RE: Long Hood Forward Gp9 Cab

Just a project I have been tinkering with the past few months. I was working on a CV unit for myself.....I'll see if I can swing ya one up for the GTW unit that is in the file library.

RE: Long Hood Forward Gp9 Cab

Try HeadOut ( 1.8 3.3 -3.47 )This switches the headout veiw to the other end of the loco. All measurements are in meters from the center of the loco. Hope this helps!Bob

RE: Long Hood Forward Gp9 Cab

Bob, that did the trick for the headout view.
The other problem is the Inside view is still looking out to the front platform and handrailings, not the side of the hood. Thanks for the help!

RE: Long Hood Forward Gp9 Cab

Gord,The cabview is a bit more complicated. I have modified the GT 4434 myself, by using a passenger view in the cab, then taking a screenshot out the window, and cutting and pasting the view into the cabview. I will try to find my notes. It was a little more involved than I thought it would be, but it worked just fine. I will try to get some screenshots to post here also.Bob.
