Maybe if you showed us a picture instead of reciting spec. numbers we might be... And a list of what locomotives used this combination would be good also...Chuck Schneider (Virtual) CEO North American (Virtual) Locomotive Works
Hello Chuck,I have not been able to find a photo on the web, as my scanner is down, I cannot load the reference picture. The photo I have been studying is from UP 5000 (SD50) circa 1992. The EPIC 3101 was the first electronic air brake controller marketed in the 1990's, and is the forerunner of the EPIC II controller found in the desktop cabs of today. The 3101 was mounted in the conventional location of the 26L valve, with the automatic (train) brake on top and independent brake below, operating much like the 26L valves. A touch-tone pad between the levers controls the setup for brake pipe cutoff, brake pipe pressure regulating valve and the MU2A valve. A microprocessor interprets the values and displays information on a flat panel screen (no more air gauges). This system replaced more than fifty feet of air line into the cab with wiring and electro-pnuematic relays amd sensors, greatly reducing maintenance costs. The photo of UP 5000 is in Extra 2200 South - Issue 96 (July-August-September 1992). The system was being developed by WABCO in conjunction with UP and Norfolk Southern. Susequent developments created the EPIC 3102 and EPIC II systems in use today. If I can find a photo I will post here. Thanks!BobEDITHello Again Chuck!Just found the cab in another thread, apparently done by you guys at NALW! The control stand you list as SD70 was also used in NS GP60's and is very similar to the UP 5000 (except I think this is the EPIC 3102, but close enough!). Is this cab available at this time? Thanks!Bob
Remember that what we release may not be an exact match for what you are requesting.... It'll be the best compromise given the limitations of MSTS that SamSpade and his team can come up with....Chuck Schneider (Virtual) CEO North American (Virtual) Locomotive Works

Yep he has a couple of extremely talented "apprentice wizards" who would be standalone in their own right in any other group....Chuck Schneider (Virtual) CEO North American (Virtual) Locomotive Works
