RE: ?????

Matt,
Use your TGATOOL, Open the cabview file texure for that view, open your alpha channel with your paint program and black out (0 0 0) that portion of the window.

"Ummm, would there be any way that I could just send you the .ace file???"Not a chance, give a guy a fish and he'll stop bothering you for an hour, teach him how to fish and you can have an "accident" and drown him. Or something like that, I forget how it goes. You can do it with MSpaint too. Just click on "Create alpha template", then "send alpha channel to editor", and use the deletion & eraser tools to make everything that isn't window white, reload after edit, export ace with alpha or ace -trans.? – image 17Create alpha template,? – image 18Send alpha channel to editor (any editor),? – image 19Erase-delete-paint white anything that isn't window, save,? – image 20Reload after edit, export as ace, -trans or with alpha,? – image 21After that you'll have to get into the cab editor, for this one increase the height of the window area (doesn't go all the way to the bottom of the cab window), and move assorted controls & dials around.

RE: ?????

As I am the author of this cabview I am intrigued as to why the alpha channel doesn't work. There is an alpha channel in the original ace file and it works fine on everyone's PC so far. Sounds to me like you've opened it in TGAtool and exported it without the alpha channel.Kim Durose

RE: ?????

All too easy to lose an alpha or render it inop, I've done it a zillion times. I don't have your cabview, for that demo I just copied his last jpeg, resized it to 640x480, and made an ace out of it with TGAtool2.Which reminds me, ALL HAIL MARTIN WRIGHT, THE UNSUNG HERO OF MSTS!? – image 22Hee-hee, sorry, had to get that out of my system. For some reason I was just remembering what a pain it was trying to do all this before TGAtool, and there was no way to convert an ace to a bitmap or targa. Making or editing alpha channels with only windows paint to work with couldn't be done at all, and even with PSP-7 it was like trying to get milk from a male ostrich.

Eh, where did my signature go?
Where has my favourite LUL train gone? Maybe it was sent for bolt checking again...
