I think I have figured out that the .cvf file placed within an engines folder telss where the correct .ace files are found for the cabview. In the 'common cab' folder there always seems to be a copy of the .cvf file. Is to to allow a templete for that particular aliased cabview? That is the only reason I can see why it needs to be there.

RE: Cab alias question

It can be done 2 ways:
1. the cvf line in the eng file can point to ti where it is;
..\\..\\Common.cab\\Cabfoldername\\alias\\alias.cvf
The only problem is if you do not have the path right, error. You can put it in a text file with the lines you use to alias sounds and copy and paste it into eng files.
2. create a Cabview folder for each engine; or create one copy it to the clipboard and paste it into each eng folder. The4n edit the eng file for the correct filename. This is my prefered method. I have has problems with method 1 with payware engines and pixelating the cabview.Kevin Arceneaux
