Good evening all,
JClifton and sniper297 gave me some excellant help on creating the engineer's headout view. Now I have to ask one more similar question. A few engine files that I have downloaded (all different engines) give me a headout(?) view even without the headout line in the eng file. The problem is that this view is looking forward directly into the side window post. Is there any other line in the eng or even the cvf file that might be causing this. The view almost looks like I'm playing "peek-a-boo" Thanks in advance
Dwight........

The first 3 ace files referenced in the cabview files define what you see looking forward, right and left. You'll notice that some engines have a view looking back towards the trailing end of the engine. It all depends on how these aces are listed. These are for the Up, Right, and Left arrows. The headout line basically is different in that it gives you a movable view. To solve your "post problem", you would need to edit that particular ace file. The easiest way would be to modify the transparency portion of that ace file, and make the post "transparent". Make you a copy of the original first and save it. The view you are talking about is the original "right view" that came with MSTS. Do some searching here and you'll find more "how to" information. Kyle

RE: Another Cabview question pt2

Thanks Kyle,
I see what you mean. By experimenting with those numbers you can really fine tune "what you see"
I found the answer to my original problem quite by accident. Well at least with a pair of clean glasses. Seems like when I was fine tuning the .eng file I kinda hit the Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V keys once too often. (Don't know why I just didn't fat finger the line in) I was copying and pasting the headout line from one file to the one I was working on once too many times. Placed a headout line before and after the cabview line. Well MSTS didn't know what the heck to do so it gave me this weird headout out view like I was rematerializing in between the window posts, and I don't know why MSTS didn't just crash like it usually does when something is screwed up. So I eliminated the first headout line and readjusted the first set of numbers and finally got my head stuck out the window just beyond the post and using my teeth to catch bugs. Thanks again for the info
