I downloaded some chatter and background music for the GP38 yesterday, and found it to be a wonderful addition to our driving along various routes. There are two made available... Trains, and Wabash. My questions is, can someone invent a switch on the dashboard that will toggle the sound files played from one to the other? This would save going to the folder of the GP38 and making the changes manually.I appreciate that this might be difficult to do.... but when I read of the complex operations of each readme file associated with each part of the train sim, I never fail to be amazed at how some peoples brains have the agility to think around the various perspectives and get them all working in sync.... Truly amazing. Please respond if you come up with any notions as to how it might be done....Kind regards,Chugger_2

The only thing that I could think of is a *.bat file. You could just open the folder that the BAT file is in and run it. I don't know how to create a BAT file, so ask someone else. There may be a way to get a switch to run the bat file, but I don't think you could run in the same simulation. You could save it and reload.

I've never tried this, but assuming that a toggle switch could be added to the cabview, the toggle might be made to activate different streams of an sms file. But then again, it might not work. How about it you sound guys?

RE: Can someone invent a switch on the dashboard ?

Sorry for bumping this but:
If you don't want a bell, why not use that audio stream for music/chatter? Methinks certainly that European trains, which don't need bells, that could be used. TA's Obs Car used one 5-minute sound file, rather than many different audio streams. I see no reason why this cannot be accomplished with a bell (provided it's set to toggle on/off in the .eng file). AFAIK, there are no spare activation protocols, ie there's no 'extra' buttons in the cab.
