I am doing a repaint of a high hood cab for a GP9. I used PSP5 to repaint the image, and I'm trying to use TGATOOLS2 to convert the TGA to an ACE. The first time I tried to do it, I told it to overwrite the existing ACE file, but that didn't happen. Then I deleted the original ACE file and tried again to save the TGA as an ACE file with the same name as the original, but that didn't work either. I've tried restarting TGATOOLS2 several times, but it just won't create the ACE file from the TGA. What could be wrong? Thanks.Shawn
While I was home for lunch, I tried running MakeACE from a DOS prompt, and it told me that my image size was too large. The image size is 1024x768, which explains why it wouldn't work as a TGA. I opened the image and saved it as a BMP and tried running MakeACE from a DOS prompt again, but I got the same message. What am I doing wrong? Thanks.Shawn
Shawn,You're using the standard MakeAce that came with the game, you haven't installed or upgraded anything for it, am I correct? If so, you need to download the tools update on this website: http://microsoftgamesinsider.com/TrainSimulator/InsideTrainSimulator/TrainSim_v1.2ContentUpdate.htm. The MakeAce that came with MSTS does not export certain kinds of .ace files, and I think 1024x768 is one of them. Try downloading the update and see if it works. Oh, and be sure to select the right version of MakeAce in the drop-down box in TGATool.-- Mike Karlik -- -- "Power for you" --
Well, at first it didn't work and I ended up with a blank screen and a bunch of controls. Then it worked too well, and I had my cab and controls, but a blue window. After messing with the settings for a bit, I finally got it to work. Thanks.Shawn
