Well here it is. compare it to earlier pics, I think its only getting better. I enlarged the window so its easier to see out of.
I still have 2 big problems:
The throttle and dynamic brake levers will not move. I have the 8 positions and what not, but they will not animate. How do I make them animated?
And
I cant get the digital speed display to work. It will save, then when I try to re-load the cab in the editor, an error says "Failed to read cabview controls" and the "Could not create cabview"
I have the speedometer set to use a different color for decelleration, but that shouldnt be a problem? Any ideas?
And a tip search:
Any idea on how to make the circle around the numbers illuminate according to speed like the real ones do with the green LED's?
Any ideas appreciated!
Enjoy

Kevin V.

I like the cab but the speedometer is way to big to go with the view.Have you thought of using the Q-Train digital speedometer that was recently released to the library?.Better yet you could trim the housing down to where you only have the speedometer showing. That may look better then center it more. You may want to e-mail the guys at NALW.They're pretty good at making cabviews.Someone there nay be able to help you in solving some of the problems that you're having.

Why not stick with a speedometer that is available until you can get that type to work? That type speed readout is a first and you may never get answer.Sticking with what's available will give you the time to figure out the other problems that you're having.

RE: Newest NS/CN cab pic

Well yes, the speedometer is tilted cus I only had one pic to take it from, and it is regular sized from a CN cab. I know the NS units have a different speedometer. I am working on them both and you must understand that making a cab is not easy. I ahve not seen the new speedometer, but will take a look tonight. Until then, I am using what is in the photo, since this is a photorealistic cab.
By the way, did I mention that I'm only 17? I think its pretty darn good for a kid's work!
But yes, I know it still needs work, the above is a progress shot and I do appreciate your feedback. Thanks

Kevein go to the files section in the library, then go to the cabs. You'll see two new cabs of the sd40.One is for the BNSF and the other is for the WV&O.There you will see the speedometer that is being used. That one looks great to me.Both of those cabs use the QTronic speedometer.
