Hello!
Well as many of you know, an NS C40-9W pack was relesed recently with 4 NS C40-9W's. First let me say they are excellent! But the cab could use a little work...But yes, it is very well done for how it is! I was in a C40-9W last year and there were a few minor adjustments. Basically heres my question: How do I edit a loco cab? I would love to improve on this base as it would not be too hard to make it very similar to the real thing-a few lever adjustments, a button or two added and clearing up the air and load meter displays a bit as well as adding a digital speed read out under the speed needle, like in the original BNSF Dash 9. How is this done? Thanks,
Kevin

Actually, what I think he means is that he wants to know how to modify a cab .ace file. In that case, I must refer you to a number of reskinning tutorials that are out there. Try searching the forums and the file library. Here are the first few steps to get you started.1. Start up TGATool (you need to get it, but I forget where you can find it; look through the forums).2. Load the nsd9frnt.ace file out of the Cabview folder of the locomotive.3. Send it to your picture editor.4. Paint on it.5. Click "Reload after Edit."6. Click "Export" ---> "Ace (Alpha)"Obviously, the actual modification is a lot more complicated than that, and you have to know what you're doing in your photo editor. It helps if you're working from pictures. Then you can cut and paste the parts and modify the colors to your liking.
