First of all, I want to thank DadBill for creating the outstanding new default GP38 cabview based on the new SD40-2 cabview. Now I have something to alias all my generic low-hood cabviews to without having to worry about the BNSF nose being visible in an EL loco...One thing I wanted to change though was the "out-the-window" perspective view of the track ahead. Here is the Direction line from the GP38.CVF file that comes with DadBill's file called Newview.zip:Direction ( 8 -12 0 )Here is what that view looks like:Tweaking DadBill's GP38 cabview – image 2I changed the direction line to look like this:Direction ( 8 -18 0 )And here's the view you get, better forward visibility of the track I'm on but I feel like I should be able to see part of the hood now:Tweaking DadBill's GP38 cabview – image 3So I backed it off to this:Direction ( 8 -16 0 )And here's what you get, I can see the track I'm on enough now and I think I can get away without having part of the hood visible:Tweaking DadBill's GP38 cabview – image 4Just thought I'd make this post so everyone can see how they can tweak their own cabviews with very little effort.Toodles!Jeff Leslie

RE: Tweaking DadBill's GP38 cabview

Thanks for the view relocation tip. I have another small problem .... in my cab the auto and independent brake images are misaligned. They look like they are pasted on top og the originals and are offset a couple of inches. Do I need to fiddle with POV or something?krswen

RE: Tweaking DadBill's GP38 cabview

If you are using an aliased file, make sure you are using the enclosed GP38 alias file for the high-nose or low-nose. If you use the old one it will place the controls in the old positions. You can see from the pictures above the controls are in fact in the correct positions.
Check the instructions in the readme file on how to replace alias cabview files for engine that use them.
