I have been reading about people's complaints about the new cab for the recently released SD 40-2. So, I got to work and fixed it. I just posted the files on Train-Sim. The following are my fixes.Front View Fixes- zoomed out the original artwork to allow for an unobstructed view of the track ahead
- reconfigured the control console to accomodate the zoomed artwork
- changed the window perspective so that they are now set at 90 degress to the track direction
- created a new loco nose and railings to correspond to the new window perspective
- updated the sd402.cvf file in terms of view position and view direction
- altered contrast and brightness in the cab that distracted from the out of window view
- sharpened the dial faces and labels
- added a digital clock and wipers button
- added a very small amount of dirt to all of the windowsLeft View Fixes-re-worked all of the horizontal lines, such as window frames, so that they are now parallel to the ground
- updated the sd402.cvf file in terms of view position and view direction
- added a very small amount of dirt to all of the windowsRight View Fixes- added a reflection into the side mirror
- updated the sd402.cvf file in terms of view position and view direction
- added a very small amount of dirt to the windowAlex Hall

RE: Major CAB Update to SD40-2 released by MSTS V 1.02

Thank you very much for this cab mod,Alex Hall. This is how I felt it should be in the first place. Before this, although the SD40-2 cab looks good in screenshots when it was first introduced, somehow while ingame,it doesn't feel right and I ended up not using it. Now with this new update,I have a very good reason to drive an SD40 besides the Dash9 cab I always use.

RE: Major CAB Update to SD40-2 released by MSTS V 1.02

I'm running high screen resolution, so I went into the .cvf file and switched to the sd402frnt1024.ace thinking it would improve the image.
The needles are floating about five inches above the gages, I have two horn buttons and a number of other anamolies! Anybody else experience this?

Is the nose gonna fly off? I'll use it with the snoot nose.
