Need an F59PHI cab for the West Coast Express loco by John Fowlis. Also, I recently got invited into the cab of a brand new CN Dash 9. A friend of mine who was with me pointed out that it has the traditional floor control console as opposed to the newer desktop controls found in the default MSTS BNSF Dash 9. I'd really like to have a cab with a floor control console for my CN Dash 9 locos. Thanks in advance.

That's better than the desktop controls, but the control console is a bit different on CN locos. My friend left is camera in the car (whack!) so I don't have any pics. If a CN engineer or conductor reads this maybe he could take some?

RE: Dash 9 cab pic

Mikey, that's an EMD cab - an SD60 with control stand I thinkThis picture really doesn't help create the Dash 9 version cos it doesn't tell me what speedo to use, where to place it; that kind of thing. A photo of the GE item would help more!

It's a Dash 9. It says so on the web site, and I was just in the cab of a brand new Dash 9 last Saturday. The whole thing was brand new. The inside smelled new; even the exhaust smelled new.I don't know what CN's reason for control stands is, but I do know some American engineers dislike desktop controls.

>Mikey, that's an EMD cab - an SD60 with control stand I thinkHmmm...could be. In fact, you're probably right. Here is the picture from Al's site.F59PHI and Dash 9 – image 22However, I came across this picture of a CN Dash 9. The cabview could be used in either locomotive, don't ya think?F59PHI and Dash 9 – image 23

RE: F59PHI cab

Well yes if you want to!However in real life EMD and GE cabs both control stand and desktop type are recognizably different...

RE: F59PHI cab

It would be better toi do them differently. Al's site has some interesting stuff, like an SD70 standard cab with control stand and computers screens similar to the Dash9 layout.Anyways, here some possiblilities (well under way posibilities). Actually the Dash9 is working; I still need to make the EMD cabs functional.

RE: F59PHI cab

Thanks for the link. Cool photos indeed. You might want to post any photos you have on this forum. Just posting them might inspire someone to create something. It's easier to see something you like and take it on rather than think 'what should I do' and then ask for pictures!
