Been searching the archives and can't find my answer (darn Boolean)
Somewhere back in time there was a thread on the "Outside Engineers View" ie sticking my head out the cab window and catching bugs. Where in the *.cvf file (or was it the *.eng file)are the coordinates for the outside view (forward and back) and what are the number meanings. Thanks in advance
Dwight......

RE: Another Cabview Question

Yeah, the first was a long time back. The steamers usually come with a default head out view (since you can't see where the hell you're going inside the cab), but the diseasels started without one. Open the .eng file, do a word search for "cabview" and add the head out line underneath. CabView ( dash9.cvf )
HeadOut (1.8 3.7 5.1 )
The numbers are in meters, right/left of centerline (-1.8 would be 1.8 meters left of center, since there's no minus it's right side), height above rails, and distance from the front of the engine. So the above example gets you a head out view 1.8 meters right of centerline, 3.7 meters above the track, and 1.5 meters back from the front coupler.

RE: Another Cabview Question

Thanks Jim. I know I've read this a few times over the past few months but darn if I could find it in the Search. Now maybe I can modify my "view" without seeing a blank space next to the cab window and wacking my head on the "raise the flanger" sign comming at me. Dwight.......
