This will probably be considered sacrelidge by those who produce those beautiful cab views, but to the uninitiated such as myself this approach is a closed book. I have therefore, following Matt Peddlesden's suggestion, tried to produce a very basic cab view using TSM to create an internal structure for the cab ( no great problem ), to provide suitable apertures for the windows and to use the ' Head out ' view, shifted to the cab interior, to set the viewpoint. All OK so far - a basic ( very basic ! ) cab view with the appropriate viewpoint. But this is where the problems start. As soon as I try to pan the view, or, keeping a ' straight ahead ' view, try to move the locomotive, I am rewarded with MSTS ' freezing ' followed by the standard Microsoft error message ! Can anyone put me straight here, and tell me in words of one syllable what I have to do to overcome this problem. Any help or advice will be welcome indeed.JohnB

RE: Simple cab views

The best advice from the cab forum would be to post your question in the Loco Design forum! What you describe more correctly belongs there as it is a modification of the train model not of the cabview. The people there will have the skills to help you, I am sure. -------SamSpade--------
