Mar-31-02, 09:18 AM (EST) "Please help with the acceleration cotrols!" Please help with the acceleration cotrols!Cab builders, please help! I found in the eng-and-wag reference such parameters as MaxInHiAcceleration( ) and MaxInLowAcceleration( ) which looks like coefficients of the tractive force in low and high acceleration mode. The puzzle is how to toggle these modes from the cab (if it's possible). Thanks in advance, Michael

If you look at the key assignments, nearly all of the keys are used for something, and pressing the unused ones makes no difference, even when I have those two parameters set to something other than one(their default setting) . These two parameters seem to be a way of fine tuning the tractive effort curve of electrics, but unfortunately Kuju never got around to incorporating them into the program.Believe or not, based on my testing so far, the values for curvature friction are also ignored by the program, and this is a very important parameter. I can only hope the next patch will fix some of these glaring oversights. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Apr-02-02, 04:49 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Please help with the acceleration cotrols!" Yes, I thought about using those parameters for EMUs acceleration tuning as it is on Russian EMUs like ER2. On the other hand tractive effort reduction is required to prevent wheelspin but I'm almost unable to model this situation in MSTS. It seems to me that all trains in MSTS behaves normally like a single locomotive with all axles driven. For example, EMUs head coaches always called 'locomotives' and the other are not. But if it is so their maximum possible acceleration falls down at once.To say nothing about heavy freight trains. Moving the throttle to the maximum power from the very begining of moving MUST cause wheelspin and maximum current overdrawing.Michael
