I am at my sistes house in Olathe and she lives a couple blocks from a BNSF route that is businer then K line. Seems like I hear a train every five minutes. Anyone know which line it is?
If it's Olathe Kansas you're referring to, That line is the BNSF Emporia Sub., which is part of the southern Transcon. That explains the traffic on the line.
Our traffic levels right now on the Emporia Sub, or hell, the entire transcon are mirroring what we usually get during the fall intermodel rush. Its quite normal nowadays to see 70+ a day along the Emporia Sub through Olathe with that number expected to increase to much higher levels as more double track is added out west on the Panhandle Sub. We have seen a number of stack going by. I noticed what looked like a reefer or a boxcar. It was white with an orange stripe around the top makes me think BNSF is starting to repaint freight equipment with the new logo.
Didn't get many pictures missed too many chances. One time I saw a UP SD70m with a US Flag on the side and it had a Southern Pacific SD70M trailing but I didn't have my camera with me.
