RE: Where to buy MSTS?

LAST EDITED ON Feb-01-05 AT 05:03 PM (EST)

I heard recently that Atari bought the rights from Micro$oft and will be re-marketing the sim. Just checked Atari's web site and found nothing so no idea when it might be available again. I understand Microsoft has stopped production on MSTS.You may want to check e-bay for a used copy. Or keep an eye on the discount bins at your local stores.Cheers,

I found two copies, under the Atari value line, at a Staples in January. It's being sold in jewel cases now.

CD-ROM problem? What might that be, an official no-CD option?

RE: Where to buy MSTS?

If you get MSTS rev 1.2 on a CD, you are required to have the CD inserted in order to run the program. However, if you get on Microsoft's MSTS site, download that version 1.2 and install it over your CD version, you can then run the program without having to load the CD in the drive first. As to where to get it, try Amazon.com:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005B4AS/103-3221720-7328602?v=glanceI just checked and they had 9 copies for sale from various sellers - 7 new and 2 used. Also, www.shopping.com lists 3 places that have it in stock. Isn't Google wonderful, folks? I really feel bad for those poor souls that don't take the time to search it's billions of pages!! Just typed in "buy Microsoft Train Simulator" and went from there!Larry Steiner

I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!
