Feb-15-02, 01:28 PM (EST) 1. "RE: Comp USA moved Back on Release Of Trainz??" Hi Greg,
Best Buy hadn't even heard of Trainz when I spoke with them. A GameStop shop nearby thinks that they might have Trainz early next week...the shop I went to said they don't receive shipments on Friday's. I did happen to call a local EB shop again today, and they told me that (gasp) they DID have Trainz on their shelves! They had just got it in today!! Feb-15-02, 06:15 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Comp USA moved Back on Release Of Trainz??" Didn't people know that Auran released the community version of Trainz two months ago? I know that you have to order the program from their web site. I don't want anyone to cause accidents while driving from one store to other looking for retail version of the program. I found out that while the retail version has GMAX program on CD-ROM, Auran didn't put the GMAX exporter on the CD-ROM. I think that Auran rushed the retail version out the door instead of waiting for Discreet to release the GMAX exporter. Jeffrey. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-16-02, 06:06 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Comp USA moved Back on Release Of Trainz??" Why should they release it on the CD when its free to grab of the Gmax site anyway ? Yes they hoped to put it on the retail disk..But discreet havent made up there god damn mind and have screwed Auran around in the process.. Auran has a deal with someone called a Publisher.. That publisher (as i undersatand it) is the one wanting it released now.. Im sure Auran would of held it back to get the Gmax on the disk its just the contracts i imagined they signed would prevent that....Im just over the moon that weve got Gmax.. ie its free, ie weve got a designing tool before Trainz was released , and ie we didnt have to wait months and months to get something like this, again for free ....I know its also costs nothing to complain about it.. It also costs nothing to sit pack patiently and wait...I guess what im trying to say is its not costing any users anything..... I thought that would make alot of people happy.. But as always ive been proved wrong.Catchya Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Don't know about other areas but I spent the last 4 days calling every software store within 100 miles (I live in southeast Texas).Electronic Boutique got it in yesterday.Best Buy had never heard of it.Compusa says maybe next week.Software etc. says maybe by the end of next week.My advice is locate an EB near you and call them.It worked for me.Freddie A.
