A problem has come up recently. On the ends of a switch opposite the points, when I back thru the switch the switch does not change positions. For instance if I am backing thru the turnout end of the switch and the original position was straight and the front of the train does not pass the points when I reverse the train the cars that are past the points follow the original setting. It used to be if the switch was set opposite and I backed into it you could see in the switch indicator the position change. It does not do that anymore. These are Pt10dMnl switches

RE: Switches

ahh Yes. those switches dont seem to move the points. the train still runs perfect over them like the points did move. but I use them also. and they seem to have points move. so who knows. another problem from Kuju/MSTS.

RE: Switches

When operating in the Explore mode, the player engine determines the path, thus switches will set for you according to the direction the player engine is moving. Therefore, as you reverse and move toward a closed point via the diverging route (curved portion of the switch), the switch will activate and align for you.Not so within an activity. A switch will not activate unless it is pathed to do so. This means if you are off the prescribed path and approaching a closed point via the diverging route, the switch will not activate. If a manual switch, you will not be able to control that switch until it the player engine passes through so the switch becomes a facing point switch. This will mean if you partially back your train through a closed point switch via the diverging route and then move forward again, part of the train that is on the other side of the switch points will try to follow the straight path, the other will try to stay with you on the diverging route.Solution: Either path it differently within an activity, or pass the train completely through the switch so you can activate it manually.Andre MingVisit VSC's temporary web page at: http://www.vscalecreations.comVisit VSC's Forum at: http://www.3DTrains.comSwitches – image 1
