For all those model railroaders out there.....Just checked out Broadway-Limited's website, I found a pleasant surprise. The SD40-2s are in stock, so you might want to head out to your hobby store to reserve/buy one if you haven't already.Greg

Do you know if they fixed the errors on the BN paint schemes so the pilots and walk decks were changed from green to black?Kevin V.

"I'll pass on anything BLI dose"
wow so you dont want something that is actually good..
and not for nothin but we didnt order the BN Scheme but we got the Milwaukee schemes in and they look perfect to mebut im not one of those people who needs to nitpick and count rivits.BLI puts out great products, weather you want to admit it or not.Id rather have my BLI GG1 over the IHC version, and none of the previous releases of the hudsons in HO scale can come close to the BLI model i have.Their T-1 and mountian pennsy engines were fantastic pieces when they were still in store.
and again, the reason that these units have been delayed several times is cause of the "complaints" people have about something they never have seen in person, and are only judging from PREPRODUCTION shots.

the pre production sample I saw pics on the net of had the MILW number WAY too far back, and had it classed as a 30-ERS-4. the door latches were HUGE and way too thick, the grilles were horrible. When they can't get even obvious details like what was painted what color, and they're doing something with literally thousands of color photographs, and they botch something that big up, they don't need my money.

RE: BLI SD40-2s in stock

The cheapest OMI SD40-2 I could find is over 400 bucks, which is twice the cost of the BLI i'm buying. Granted BLI can't touch the detail that comes on a OMI engine, but still, why would I want to drop another 200 bucks for an engine that to the non rivet counter eye looks similar? And do OMI engines have sound? I know people who don't run their brass engines for the simple fact that they don't have sound. Sound makes a big enough difference for me to overlook some numbers pushed a scale 5 feet back. Greg

RE: BLI SD40-2s in stock

All the complaints you guys have are of the preproduction models, and are nitpicking.in the end will the side of a doorlatch be what kills an overall great model with great features for the money? I have brass, and i have a bunch of other models, but my BLI units, are the ones i like running the most, because of the extra dimension of sound, as well as their choice of subjects..Yea there are tons more manufacturers out there that make a great SD whatever but who cares? those new motors are boring, class and personality less engines.
