A few years ago I during the chirstmas season I saw a big model trainset in on of Famous-Barr's corner windows. I think it was HO-gauge also there was an article in the paper the same year that it was displayed by a model train group every year. Are they doing it again this year as I down go downtown anymore?

Actually it is O Guage, with amix of Lionel and American Flyer if I remember. I would like to know if they are doing it as well still. Course I havn't been up to St. Louis for Christmas for 8 years now. I still miss Union Station.Mauser mit Dem Mauser.Garand rule: dump 8, throw the block.

So Famous is still around? And they still have a train display? I remember the one they had in one of the windows, back in the early '60s, that had both O and HO in it. I lived in U City at the time, and it was a short walk to the Delmar Loop, to catch the streetcr downtown. It's nice to know somebody is still carrying on the tradition... -Phil

I remeber a monorail layout they had over the toy dept at Stix-Beaur and Fuller a few blocks from Famous, downtown. You could ride this monorail. My grandmother would take me there every year at Christmas time. I had a aunt that worked at the old Skruggs Dept store. You may try calling the downtown Famous-Barr store and see if they know if they will have it again this year...But I have no credibility
