Well, went down to Oneonta NY (Start of MLT's Bridge Line) to await the arrival of CP's Holiday train on Friday. Went down a few hours early to see if I could catch any regular trains before the special, and I wasn't dissapointed. As I was heading towards Oneonta, a westbound went by, so I turned around and headed back a few towns to catch it. A CN Dash 9 was on the point, trailed by a older Conrail unit, and a older CSX unit. Shortly after getting to Oneonta, and getting a good spot, a NS Intermodel came through, with a UP unit trailing. 2 trains, 5 different units (CN, NS, UP, CR, CSX)! After a short lull, the grade crossing began to fill up with people and police and CP employess, but before the holiday train, 2 CP eastbounds came through. The holiday train finally came through about an hour late. It was pretty neat to see, but rather than sit around and wait for it to leave, I headed out to the other side of town, and waited at another crossing for it to go by, trying a long exposure shot. The last photo is my favorite...Only the second time I have attempted a shot like that. Enjoy.....Chris Bogley

RE: CP's Holiday Train comes to the Bridge Line

Awesome shots Chris, especially the last one. The train with the CN unit is most likely CP train #930. This train carries CN freight bound for NS. The train runs from Montreal, Quebec to Sunbury, PA on the D&H, then hits NS's ex-PRR Buffalo Line at Sunbury, PA (NS's symbol for the train is 30T) for the roughly 50 mile long southbound trip to Harrisburg, PA. CP 931 (NS 31T) is the northbound and usually empty version. Adds some nice variety to the CP red and NS black that is most common on the D&H.

RE: CP's Holiday Train comes to the Bridge Line

It was a nice treat to have the assortment of motive power for sure, considering I was only there for a few hours, to have seen 6 different road names, I would say it was a pretty good day trackside, and ended up with a kick ass shot to cap off the day.Chris Bogley
