It's time to renew my TRAINS subscription, but I was wondering what other publications are out there besides TRAINS and Railfan? Chris Bogley

The best railroad there ever was

Railpace is the best for North Eastern, Atlantic (as in NJ, PA, MD, etc.) and some south eastern Canada. Its about 40-50 pages and is a monthy magazine.

There's Branchline, a Canadian monthly magazine with articles, news and very detailed rolling stock changes (ex: so and so unit retired) and a bunch of other stuff. Subscribe to it, pretty good.
It's about Canada though, no US stuff, unless its CN or CP.

Chris, I've seen them all, and CTC Board is (IMO) the best. Also, worth mentioning (again - IMO) is The Railroad Press (TRP). Great photography in both.

My personal favorites are Railpace and Diesel Era. Diesel Era is the best one out there I think, if your into diesels I guess. Great in-depth articles and photos, photos, photos up the ying-yang!-Mike
