>What is a really good train driving simulator besides
>microsoft train simulator? Trainz or Trainmaster are about your only other options. Trainz is a fun game with its own brand of quirks and problems, but still fun. Trainz has not achieved the realistic physics of MSTS with any of its built-in locos or rolling stock. 3rd party creators have been doing a fine job trying to do add realistic physics to locos. More will come in future releases, I hope. Trainmaster is supposed to have excellent loco and rolling stock physics, but you are limited to looking out the cab window only. In other words, you can have a 100 car coal drag assigned to your motive power and you cannot see one bit of it. You cannot even see the color of the paint on your loco; if my feeble mind is remembering correctly. There is a demo version available on their site. They are working on a next generation simulator that is supposed to offer the same physics with an outside view (if my perception of the chatter in the TMTS forum is correct) Scroll down the list of forums here and take a look at the TMTS forum. RE: train simulators

I have the full on TM4 and its OK. And for about 20 bucks its not a bad deal. Plus it works very well with a RailDriver as it should as it is now owned by those worthies.Bill Alder

RE: train simulators

I can also recommend the German "Zusi" simulation. Graphics not up to MSTS standards but the sound, physics and timetable based operation is first class. Many of the trains feature photorealistic cabs.A listing and reviews of many of the driving sims available can be found at my site, www.trainsim.org.uk

Yep, it's free as well! So why not just try it? If you don't like it(no one hates it), you'll have nothing to lose! Take a look at the BVE forum here.

-----You are reading my signature now, don't waste your time reading it!-----
Or probably, maybe you should waste your time reading it.
Eh, where did my signature go?
Oh, here it is, the one you are reading right now? Can't you see it? I know I know, it's probably too bright to see it.
Hey, look at my avatar, nice right? I drew it with my own hands holding the mouse in Paint, with the pencil tool(and the Filling tool!)!
It's a picture of me in Planet Stooopid, where everything is the same as what you call "Earth" except that we are called "aliens" in your planet.
Anyway, I warned you not to waste time reading my signature! You have just wasted probably about 30 seconds reading it, where you could have spent the time doing better things, like maybe reading the next post below if there is one...
