Hi all. I want to share with you a good book i read in early July of 1990. It is called "The Plugged Nickle" by Robert Campbell. You can look it up on line, and possibly order it as of the last time i checked. It is about a crime that was nearly pulled off on The California Zephyr Amtrak train between Chicago and Denver, and Denver. The thing that is impressive is that while reading this book i felt like this did, or really was happining, because he mentioned many towns that we went thru and the times that were mentioned also were the times that we really went thru those towns. The railroad cop in the story used so much of his detective skill to solve this crime. It is a good example of other ways of how to enjoy the railroad.
