Hi there!
I'm new to this particular forum but have been writing to others with my particular problem which seems to have no solution. I have had MSTS for a couple of years now and mostly have left it sitting on the shelf because of the frustration the after install error message which states "Cannot find MPEG player." I think I've done several installs and uninstalls over this period of time and keep getting that message. Like I've mentioned before, I've written other forums with this and have never gotten any tips or suggestions. So, this is like my last resort before I just leave the whole idea of train simming alone and stick with my flight sim 2004. I must say that the sim does operate well beyond that error, but theres still something wrong here that I feel must be fixed. Anyway, I would greatly appreciate any advise or solution if there is anyone who've had this problem to please write me back.
Thanks sincerely, MisterChevy

RE: Error after Install of MSTS

1, which version windows?
2. go out on the web, and FIND an MPG file.. download and see if it plays.. this assumes you do not have one on your computer.if not, then your windows has problems..
3. IF you are uninstalling TS, then you must clean the registry up, and its best to reinstall NOT in the default path..
4. you DO meet the minimum requirements for TS.?? you might need direct X update, or to run the profiler on your video card before attempting to run TS.

RE: Error after Install of MSTS

Gidday Mike,Welcome to the forum.MSTS does not need an MPEG player to operate, it is just trying to play the crappy Kuju startup.mpg.
Go to the Train simulator and delete startup.mpg and all will be well.
