Feb-04-02, 10:41 AM (EST) "Re-install MSTS?" Yesterday, I had to do clean installation of Windows XP Home Edition, some device drivers, and some programs because I had weird problems with Windows XP. I re-installed Trainz but I'm not sure about re-installing MSTS because of serious problems with its editors and tools, especially on computers running Windows 95/98/ME, and because Microsoft did nothing about MSTS for seven months. Feb-04-02, 05:00 PM (EST) 2. "RE: Re-install MSTS?" I had to re-install Windows XP two times. I re-installed Windows 95/98/ME so many times that I wanted to throw my computer out the window. Jeffrey. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-06-02, 05:30 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Re-install MSTS?" Last night, when I visited this forum, I found out that Microsoft finally released the update for MSTS. I downloaded the update, re-installed MSTS, installed the update, ran a train on a route a few times, and ran a 3DS file through new version of CONV3DS but got a different error message. I re-installed AutoCAD 2000, created a station platform, textured it without UV mapping, exported it to 3DS file, and ran it through CONV3DS but got different error message. After a few errors and trials, I finally ran the 3DS file through CONV3DS and TXT2UNI. I created a SD file, put an entry in NYCTA01.REF file, and inserted the station platform into the route in Route Editor without any problems. I created a new track section, textured it with UV mapping, exported it to 3DS file, and ran it through CONV3DS and TXT2UNI. I created a SD file, put an entry in TSECTION.DAT file, and inserted the track section into the route but the texture was not applied to the trackbed correctly. Jeffrey.
