Feb-05-02, 03:01 AM (EST) 10. "RE: Michigan Ts Users" As it turns out, myself and SD80MAC have known each other for many years and I only found out recently, but otherwise I didnt realize there were even this many trainsimmers here in michigan....Maybe we'll all have to get together one day. I'm a Conrail, Penncentral, DT&I (and various other Northeastern Roads) fan myself as I grew up watching trains in the 1970's and 80's ....I'm also an activity writer (I did some of the PO&N activities like PO&N coppertrain, BNSF tanktrain and SP tanktrain) and I'm currently putting an Conrail/Penncentral themed activity package together that will have 16-20 or so activities for the East metro route and the NEC route and will require a great many downloads (if you already have 1/3 of the requiered add-ons then thats only like 2 add-ons per activity)......These activities will feature:
Lots of painstakingly orchestrated AI trains and meets,
Long Prototypical consists using Northeastern rolling stock (CR,PC,DT&I, CP Rail,GTW, Erie-Lackawanna, reading,AMtrak...etc),
An easy to follow and complete list of required add-ons that will provide the zip-files names, where to get them (all readily available this time...LOL), and most importantly...I use only the "default" names given to the add-ons by their author so you should only have to unzip them and place them in the trainset folder (if they dont already come with a self installer that is...), but the list also provide the names of the add-on folders "AS THEY SHOULD APPEAR UNDER THE TRAINSET FOLDER"....this should (and has in my earlier activities) make for a problem free install. If this appeals to any of you and you would like to beta-test some of these new activities from my package then just let me know!!!!Bill Bzak aka Longhairedwizardbbzak@msn.com Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-07-02, 10:16 PM (EST) 12. "RE: Michigan Ts Users" Hey Michigandon, I'd like you to test my "Retro Metro" Hot-Metal train activity so I can upload it this weekend (finally worked out the bugs and even improved it!) it will require about 8 or so add-ons cars plus you'll have to have the East metro route & the 2 retrometro add-on packs installed first...(I'll send a complete readme so you'll have no problems)PS- bonus is that the add-ons for this activity will also be used in my Conrail/Penncentral activity pack so that'll be fewer to download when I release it!!!Just send me your Email addy or post it here.Oh, and anyone else interested in beta testing this activity just let me know!!!bbzak@msn.comLonghairedwizard Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-08-02, 09:50 AM (EST) 13. "RE: Michigan Ts Users" Hello Michiganders:I'm in Rochester, and also have a place in Grand Marais on Lake Superior.I have a route that covers the entire Eastern half of the U.P., from The Soo to St. Ignace, Gladstone, and Marquette. It loosely follows the Wisconsin Central, and I have brought the long dead Manistique RWY. back to life as close to the original railroad grade as possible.oboe Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Feb-08-02, 02:48 PM (EST) 15. "RE: Michigan Ts Users" Hi Don ...Maybe ... But .... I have a lot to learn yet, and packaging is down the road. I've never uploaded a pic here yet, but I want to try. ( See below ). I would certainly have to get rid of all the extra junk laying around in the route folder first. The Route folder alone is over 2 gigs right now, and that doesn't include things like Xtracks, the 40 different Soo, CN, and WC locos along with 200 or so different cars used in the activities. It would probably be easier to put it all on a few CDs. I'm also using EZstuff4, and have combined all the ref files. One good thing ... NO DYNATRACK ... All difficult connections are made with A1t 7 & 10 straights in combo with various 5 degree turns. I have NEVER had a crash in the route editor since eliminating Dynamic tracks.I've made some small JPEG screen shots, and I've read the forum rules on uploading, but I must be dumb because I don't fully understand them. Do I have to get the authors permission to use his/her locos or cars in a screen shot ??. Is the routine different for uploading a screenshot than it is for a File ??I've read all the FAQs I could find, and tried a search, but still don't "get it" .. I wish there was a small tutorial just for uploading screenshots or pics. ( I have a large website with over 2000 pics in it, but this is a little different )The H.O.
