Hi can anyone here that has a Radeon 9800 XT 256 MB video card and a raildriver PM me. I have a few questions concerning how compatible the video card is with the raildriver Thanks!AEM7AC 920 How do you like your toast?
I'd like to know if they are compatible too. I might be getting a 256 game card, and I have raildriver, so let us know if they work well together. Matt Doti
Well, I used to own a 9700 Pro and it worked just fine with RD, so I wouldn't imagine the 9800xt would have issues. You just don't want to use their jumpstation or whatever they call their quickbar. It will offset the graphics output and RD won't be able to track the HUD.I'm currently running an ATI x800 Pro with no issues either. -Jeff
The Radeon 9800XT works fine with RailDriver. All video cards should, as long as anti-aliasing and any un-needed junk is turned off.So far, my RD has seen use on a GeForce3, Radeon 9700Pro, and 9800XT, and they all worked fine.----------- BUZZ -----------
Buzz I knew you had that video card I didn't know you had a raildriver... I have some problems as you know with my sound and the techs think it's from the video card on my system.AEM7AC 920 How do you like your toast?
buzzbenz,“All video cards should, as long as anti-aliasing and any un-needed junk is turned off.”How is anti-aliasing un-needed junk? Turning up anti-aliasing and anisotropic filtering on your video card when running MSTS is a necessity if you want anything that resembles decent image quality. One of the strong points of using an ATI card (9800Pro, 9800XT, X800 series) is the fact that there is very little performance hit when turning these settings on. I think he is talking about in regards to Raildriver being able to read the HUD. However, I ran 4x FSAA and 16x Aniso on my 9700 (and my x800) and RD is just fine. If I go with 6x FSAA, it starts to have problems.-Jeff
All,Just a quick Techbul here:The RailDriver works fine with most ATI cards, All Nvidia cards most of the INTEL Cards. We have issues when you switch your Anti aliasing off and the HUD is still Blurred so the RD cannot read it, some graphics card companies do this with some of their lesser cards and so far I have not found a way to switch this off outside of the Graphics card settings, all Nvidia cards do not have any features switched on by default leading this choice to be made by the user, if in doubt, make a point of asking your Computer vendor if the card has anti aliasing and if this Anti Aliasing can be fully switched off. This is all down to the fact that MSTS has no game interface for external control so we have to run an application outside of the game and read the HUD, Basically take screenshots of the window that the HUD occupies. a bit like hitting the print screen button a few times a second, if the graphics are blurred or not fully red then RD's software will not read it.I do hope this helps, if you have any questions or need any information, please feel free to contact me on Timc("at"Raildriver.com)Tim
> How is anti-aliasing un-needed junk?djt,Uh, actually, i never said Anti-Aliasing is "un-needed junk". Notice i say anti-aliasing, and "any", not "other".The "un-needed junk" was more a reference to gimmicky stuff some video card packages have that let you do some interesting, yet pointless effects. Guess i should have stated that more clearly ----------- BUZZ -----------
